Holiday Cranberry Sauce⁣⁣ Recipe

This cranberry sauce is one of my favorite things to make around the holidays. It's the perfect blend of sweet and tart, and it goes well with turkey and all the other fixins of a traditional thanksgiving meal.⁣⁣⠀

Holiday Cranberry Sauce⁣⁣⠀

Ingredients

⁣⁣⠀

12 ounces fresh cranberries⁣⁣⠀

¾ cup water⁣⁣⠀

¼-½ cup maple syrup⁣⁣⠀

1 apple, peeled, cored, and diced⁣⁣⠀

1 pear, peeled, cored, and diced⁣⁣⠀

Juice of one orange⁣⁣⠀

Zest of one orange⁣⁣⠀

1-2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger⁣⁣⠀

½ teaspoon salt⁣⁣⠀

1 cinnamon stick⁣⁣⠀

½ teaspoon ground nutmeg⁣⁣⠀

Directions

⁣⁣⠀

Zest orange before juicing. In a medium saucepan bring water and maple syrup to a simmer. Stir in cranberries, apples, pears, orange juice, orange zest, grated ginger, salt, cinnamon stick, and nutmeg. Simmer and stir occasionally until cranberries begin to burst (I love that sound!), about 5 minutes. Continue simmering, stirring occasionally, for another 30-45 minutes, until the sauce thickens to your preferred consistency. Remove from heat and cool before placing into a jar for storage. Can be stored in the fridge for 10-14 days. ⁣⁣⠀

⁣⁣⠀

Consume with delight! ❤️
