Winner, Winner, Paleo Dinner!!! ...actually breakfast and dessert.... but I WON!

Winning a contest has to be one of the best feelings around, no matter if it's a pumpkin carving contest at your local community center or a large sweepstakes with a grand prize.

Today, I got to experience that giddy, delightful feeling because I won a contest on MarksDailyApple.com! During the Primal Blueprint 21-Day Challenge, he's been hosting a different contest just about every other day. I have been inspired to enter quite a few of them including the Recipe Video contest, the Grocery-Time contest, and the one that I just won, the Post-It Notes contest!

A brief description of the contest from MDA says, "...the idea is to provide a humorous, tongue-in-cheek, or poignant statement about the modern world with a simple Post-It note and a dash of wit. It’s the world seen through a Primal lens." Most of the examples he had from previous years featured post-it notes with witty comments on grocery store items that were far from primal. He accepted actual photos of the item with a post-it note, or photo-shopped images. I had fun with this, and submitted four different images. And the one they chose was my Honey Bunches of Bloats!

Most of the ingredients in a grain/carb based cereal like this are common inflammatory foods, hence the bloating effect they have on us when we eat them. For a bit more information on that, you can check out this article on why grains are unhealthy.

Now, onto the best part of winning this contest: The Prizes! I'm a lucky girl, because I will be getting over $100 worth of paleo desserts from Paleo Treats! From their website: The Original Paleo Dessert Real Food, Clean Ingredients, Handmade Gluten free, grain free, dairy free, legume free, no junk & no preservatives. 100% Paleo approved. Satisfaction guaranteed.

And if that wasn't super fabulous enough, I also have won 8 bags of paleo granola from Primal Island Grain Free Foods! The ingredients in this granola sound so yummy: Organic Coconut Flakes, Sliced Almonds, Organic Honey, Organic Pecans, Organic Ground Flax Seeds, Pure Vanilla Extract, Organic Hazelnuts, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Almond Extract, Organic Cinnamon, Organic Sesame Seeds, Organic Nutmeg.

And just for fun, I've included my other images that I submitted for this contest. Under each one is an explanation of why I chose these products and the messages on the post-it notes.

Yikes. This one is self-explanatory. I wouldn't consider eating this product binging on carbs, but it reminds me of a great article I read on what happens to your body when you carb binge.

Butter is so good, why wouldn't you want to eat it? And if you're not convinced, or haven't heard why saturated fats aren't as bad for you as once thought, check out this article which helps explain why a high-fat diet is healthy and safe.

Oh, Subway. If only people really knew what was actually in your "fresh" sandwiches.

That was fun. And to Mark, his Worker Bees, Paleo Treats, and Primal Island, THANK YOU!! I can't wait to share my winnings with my family and friends.
